Rules for Deploys
1. After deploying, always click through the live app.
Recently, I deployed and thought, “Oh, that was a simple change—shouldn’t be a problem.” Luckily, I silenced the thought and opened up a web browser. The new account page greeted me with “We’re sorry, something went wrong.”
As developers, we should always click through the app after deploying. At a bare minimum, click through the features just deployed. The time that we don’t think it matters is precisely the time it does.
